ABOUT

Ieva Malceviciute

I am Ieva Malcevičiūtė - a licensed TCM Acupuncturist, Herbalist and lecturer.

Some time ago, when I got ill, I first grabbed a pill. Eventually, I realized that this was just a disguise for health problems, and the illness reoccurred at the first opportunity. Just like me, in this circle live many people who are immersed in the modern pace of life and experience a lot of stress.

I discovered Chinese medicine in search of a way out of this vicious circle. It has fundamentally changed my approach to health and well-being. Interested in this science, I became convinced that the human body and mind are a whole that, like a mediator, mediates with the outside world - nature, air, food and way of life.  What fascinates me most about Chinese medicine is that the focus is on the person, not the disease. After all, we are all unique, so ailments manifest themselves individually. According to Chinese medicine, health problems are treated according to each person individually, taking into account not only his/her emotional and physical condition but also the environment around him/her. This is why Chinese medicine is still called holistic medicine because each prescription for treatment is personalized.

Having decided to delve deeper into Chinese medicine, in 2012 I went to study in London. There, I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Chinese medicine from the University of Westminster. While studying, I specialized in acupuncture therapy. I also delved into the theories of nutrition and massage based on the principles of Chinese medicine, which I now apply in therapy.

During my studies, I am led by the belief that integrated medicine is our future and the path to a healthier life. I became convinced of this while practising acupuncture at the University Polyclinic and the National Health Service (NHS) Pain Clinic.

To learn more secrets of Chinese medicine, after my studies, I continued to deepen my knowledge and went to the birthplace of Chinese medicine - Hangzhou, China. I did an internship at one of the oldest hospitals in the region, where traditional and oriental medicine have been successfully interacting for almost a century. Later, I did clinical observation at a hospital in Singapore. I brought the experience gained in Southeast Asia to Lithuania and now I want to share it with you all.

Holístico's goal is to help people understand better their body, the signals it sends, and how simple tools might be used to achieve great results and improve the quality of life.

Best regards,

Ieva
