Here are some frequently asked questions about acupuncture

Does the patient feel the needles during therapy?

Yes.

Does it hurt?

No, it's a different, but nothing like "oh, it hurts!". Acupuncture needles are super thin, therefore the feeling is very different from the injection needles.

I'm so scared of needles, should I still try?

Yes, indeed. Patients who attend acupuncture therapy very often fall asleep and then are surprised at how easy it is to relax.

How does acupuncture work?

Stimulation of acupuncture points affects the peripheral nervous system, which connects to the central nervous system. In this way affecting every human organ system, including the nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, locomotor, digestive, urinary, reproductive, lymphatic, endocrine, and immune systems. This method of healing has 3 main effects:

1) pain relief;

2) reduction of inflammatory processes;

3) homeostasis is restored (stability of the body's internal medium).

What can I expect from my first visit to acupuncture therapy?

An initial consultation is performed during the first visit. During it, most of the time is spent getting acquainted with the health problem, discussing the medical history, eating habits, lifestyle and other information relevant to the patient. In Chinese medicine, the human being is considered as a whole, so the general condition of a person is assessed: the tongue and pulse are also an integral part of the diagnosis. After considering all these aspects, you will have an individual treatment plan.

Initial consultation + acupuncture duration is up to 90 minutes.  

How many times and how often is it recommended to attend acupuncture therapy?

The frequency and number of visits depend on the health condition. Usually, the longer a health problem lasts, the longer it takes to treat it. The recommended course of visits usually lasts an average of 4 to 12 weeks, 1-3 times a week.

Each plan is individual, according to your needs - all relevant information and details are discussed during the initial consultation.

What is important to know before the appointment?

Do not drink alcohol on the same day before and after acupuncture;

The last meal is recommended for 1.5 - 2 hours before the procedure.

Patients with haemophilia / taking blood thinners;

Allergic to metals.
